Report 2023

Dear Colleague and Dear Colleague OM,

we present a brief summary of the past year.
In mid-2023 we received, with the request to revive the DCS, the handover for this diploma.
We immediately wanted to take a step back and return to the foundation where the Swiss Amateur Radio Group of Castles created the DCS but also an update by creating the Team World Castles Award Switzerland to promote the activations.

Inspired by the modern site of the English Castles Awards, but with the background color of the WCA site -World Castles Award- we created the site in our spirit.

To stimulate the activations, we created Challenge best activator of the year and also the Challenge Hunter of the Year. These challenges recognize the top three classified in the category activator (HB9WCA does not participate in this challenge) and hunter.
A certificate will be sent to all participants as a thank you for participating in DCS activities.

Since May 15 we have had at LOG almost 6000 QSO of which over 2500 unique calls in 26 activations (16 with the call HB9WCA). Thanks to the collaboration of Marco IUØFBK,, we have an automated management of rankings, QSL sending and recognition.

To thank those who supported us the most, we decided to appoint, alongside the promoters of Swiss Amateur Radio Group of Castles, the Honorary Promoters in the people of OM HB9FBI, Luciano, IUØFBK, Marco and ṀØMJA, Bob and Amateurfunk Verein Liechtenstein.
The reasons on this page.

Now we move into the near future
From 1 January, the Liechtenstein castles will also be part of the DCS.
Another novelty of 2024, will be the challenge of 9 and 10 March 2024 where will be awarded hunters who work HB9WCA/ GBØWCA and activators on references DCS/ ECA. This activity is proposed with the English Castles Awards, which, in the person of Bob MØMJA, deals with the management.

One last piece of news.
To join the common language in the OM world we decided to standardize communications and documents in English (a process that will take us the first weeks of 2024).
We are aware that one of the riches of Switzerland is its multilingualism with its four languages but here we want to be radio amateurs.

We wish you and your family a Happy New Year,
with the hope of finding yourself in the activities of the Swiss Amateur Radio Group of Castles.
